ChangeSchool successfully delivers Royal Academy of Engineering's £1.1M Leaders in Innovation Fellowships Programme (LIF6) 2020

ChangeSchool, proudly served as the delivery partner for the Leaders in Innovation Fellowships (LIF) 2020 cohort for innovators across Jordan, Egypt, Indonesia, and Malaysia, – a premier global engineering technology accelerator aimed at fostering global engineering technology acceleration.

Despite a global pandemic, no international travel, and an ever-changing international economy in which to do business, these engineer-entrepreneurs were resilient, adaptable, and triumphant in their success. ChangeSchool recalibrated its approach to give consistent and innovative support for fellows’ learning and development under these special circumstances.

The cohort's 55 innovators secured an impressive $3.3 million in investment, created 290 jobs, and expanded their reach to 118,457 new customers, fostering 318 new business-to-business partnerships. Additionally, the programme culminated in the creation of a billion-dollar company.

About the LIF programme. The Leaders in Innovation Fellowship (LIF) programme is an initiative of The Royal Academy of Engineering (the Academy) aimed at building the entrepreneurial capacity of innovators and researchers through commercialisation training and in-country events, mentoring, access to resources and opportunities, and an international peer network. Bringing together selected emerging leaders from Newton Fund countries, the programme acts as a catalyst for researchers to commercialise their engineering-based innovations which address one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
