We were the consortium delivery partner of the ODA-funded £3m Innovation for African Universities (IAU) programme driving 24 partnerships with UK HEIS, delivering ecosystem development projects across Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. ChangeSchool co-ran the centre of excellence that managed a community of 82 universities and organisations

As a delivery partner for the British Council’s Creative Spark: Higher Education Enterprise Programme, ChangeSchool worked with universities across Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to build entrepreneurial capability, train faculty, launch student enterprise initiatives, and strengthen innovation ecosystems.

Through the British Council Creative Spark programme, we supported universities across Armenia, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to embed enterprise education and accelerate student entrepreneurship. This included supporting curriculum innovation, establishing entrepreneurship hubs, and preparing student teams for national and international innovation competitions — including international winners recognised at the University of Oxford.

ChangeSchool’s work in the region formed part of the British Council’s Creative Spark: Higher Education Enterprise Programme and the wider Higher Education and Science Partnerships initiative impact and outcomes are documented in official programme publications, including the Creative Spark Impact Report 2018–2020 the Final Programme Report 2018–2022, and the Awarded Partnerships Register. Armenia – International Award-Winning Innovation

ChangeSchool, together with London South Bank University and the University of Essex, led a partnership in Armenia that produced an international award-winning student venture focused on social impact.

 

Our team GreenDom from Brusov State University, Armenia were selected as the International Winners in the Social Impact Category across seven countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine) at Wadham College, University of Oxford on 3 September 2019.

 

Selected from nearly 400 competing teams, GreenDom was recognised for conceptualising a therapeutic greenhouse designed to prepare children with disabilities for the labour market — a significant step forward in inclusive innovation and social entrepreneurship. The team also won the National Award in Armenia the week prior to the international final.

Through the British Council’s Innovation for African Universities (IAU) Programme, ChangeSchool supported 24 partnerships across Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa to strengthen entrepreneurship education, build employability pathways, and develop innovation centres and community-driven enterprise ecosystems.

We work with universities across Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa to develop employability, innovation ecosystems, and entrepreneurial talent. Our role included capability-building for academic leaders, developing enterprise and innovation models, and helping institutions build scalable programmes that connect students to business creation and employment pathways.

Uzbekistan — National Awards

Uzbekistan Entrepreneurial University Awards

As part of wider higher-education innovation work in the region, ChangeSchool partnered with national higher education institutions in Uzbekistan and the British Council to launch the country’s first Entrepreneurial University Awards.

This landmark initiative recognises excellence in university innovation and entrepreneurship across the country. It provides a national platform to benchmark progress, strengthen an innovation-led culture, and celebrate institutions that are developing the next generation of entrepreneurial graduates.

By highlighting achievements in areas such as start-up creation, industry collaboration and enterprise education, the Awards programme raises ambition across the sector and supports long-term capacity building within Uzbekistan’s higher-education ecosystem.

We partner with UK universities to design and deliver global enterprise programmes, including award-winning international initiatives. These partnerships enable the transfer of global best practice into emerging and developing innovation economies.
