ChangeSchool delivers £3.2M British Council Innovation for African Universities Programme

ChangeSchool in partnership with Bayes Business School, City, University of London, led the Centre of Excellence for the £3.2 million British Council's Innovation for African Universities (IAU) programme - an initiative aimed at fostering innovation and collaboration across UK and African universities. ChangeSchool was the lead implementation partner in this UK Government's Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) funded initiative

ChangeSchool's role extended to recruitment and program delivery for these partnerships, ensuring the successful execution of collaborative projects aimed at driving innovation and knowledge dissemination. The programme, spanning five countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and the UK, comprised 24 UK and international higher education institution partnerships, engaged a total of 86 organisations and supported 35 funded projects.

ChangeSchool's end-to-end management approach facilitated a thriving community of practice, comprising 400 participants and has supported 11 community partnerships among community members, fostering a culture of celebration, peer-to-peer learning, and knowledge exchange.

Sir Steve Smith, the UK Government’s International champion, cited this programme as the most successful example of international collaboration between UK and sub-Saharan African Higher Education institutions.
