This year's Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Hub Showcase, held on May 15, 2024, at Prince Philip House in London, highlighted the breadth and depth of engineering innovation in the UK.  Entrepreneurs from across the country presented solutions to global challenges, demonstrating the transformative potential of disruptive engineering technologies.

Innovative Start-Ups Spotlighted at the Showcase

The showcase featured several ground-breaking ventures, including:

Manulytica Limited: Based in Leeds, this innovative start-up has developed vendor-agnostic systems that provide machinery users with critical production and performance insights.  These solutions empower businesses to optimise efficiency, regardless of their equipment's make, type, or age.

Deploy™  Tech Ltd: Hailing from Pontyclun, Wales, Deploy Tech Ltd. introduced the world's first foldable concrete water tank.  This eco-friendly solution addresses water management challenges in diverse environments and is designed for easy transport and rapid deployment.  The tank is ready for use within 24 hours through an innovative hydration process that hardens the material.

NitroPep: Created by Dr. Felicity de Cogan, NitroPep is a revolutionary antibacterial coating for metal surfaces.  This cutting-edge innovation is designed to kill bacteria on contact, offering the potential to reduce hospital-acquired infections and enhance hygiene in healthcare settings significantly.

Keynote Speakers and Insights

The event also featured inspiring contributions from industry leaders.  Dr John Lazar CBE FREng, Chair of the Enterprise Committee, led the proceedings.  Angie Ma, Co-Founder of Faculty, Europe's leading applied AI firm, delivered a compelling keynote address highlighting the role of engineering innovation in addressing global challenges and driving sustainable growth.
